Why Alamo?

Deciding on a place to live can be overwhelming, especially if you are relocating to a new area or state. Here are a of our favorite things we love about Alamo. Hopefully, this will help you on your home buying journey.

Alamo is a small town with a small town feel, but is close to everything you could want. A community vibe, with children riding bikes, a family oriented country club, with plenty of trails and parks. Keep reading to learn some of Dudum’s favorite trails, restaurants, stores and more!

Things To Do

iron horse trail.jpg
  • Visit the Iron Horse Trail: This trail is part of an intricate network of trails maintained by the East Bay Regional Parks District. The Iron Horse Trail extends from Concord all the way to Pleasanton with additional trails that branch off reaching even more of our local communities. People can be seen walking, running, riding bikes, and rollerblading on the trail at all times of the day. Running parallel to the 680 freeway this paved and shady trail it is easy to see why it is one of our favorite things to do.

  • Hike the Ringtail Loop: Located off of Hemme Road, this hike is no joke. If you’re looking to get your booty in to gear, look no further than this heart pumping hike. According to AllTrails the hike is a 8.2 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Alamo, California that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, bird watching, and horses. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

  • Movies Under the Stars & Summer Concert Series: Located at Livorna Park this summer movie series is a must for families, first dates, and more. These local favorites are fun for all. Make sure to bring blankets, chairs, flashlights, snacks, friends and family.

  • Alamo Farmers Market: This farmers market draws big crowds every Saturday from 9am-1pm at the Alamo Plaza Shopping Center. Aside from the fresh produce you can find the most incredible Texas style BBQ and mouthwatering South American cuisine like empanadas and alfajores.

Where to Eat

Where to Shop

  • Alamo ACE Hardware: This may seem a little odd, but with their amazing gifts section, a large selection of hardware, grills, home goods/decorations/furniture, plants, outdoor furniture, an expansive kitchen area complete with cooking classes, and a super knowledgeable and friendly staff it is easy to see why we love it here.

  • Safeway: Every town needs a great grocery store, and Alamo’s is Safeway. Typically seen as just another chain store, this Safeway is different. It is always organized, clean with a kind and welcoming staff.
