BREAK A SWEAT FOR EDUCATION October 2
7th annual Break a Sweat for Education® 5K Run & Walk is an excellent opportunity for you, your friends, and your family to help raise money and awareness for a great cause. We warmly welcome all ages and skill levels to participate in the Run/Walk. And whether you're an athlete or an observer, you'll enjoy the entertainment we have for both children and adults.
PUB IN THE PARK October 17
Spend a fun Sunday afternoon gathered outdoors with good friends to taste the best of craft beers from local breweries, listen to great live music from Salvage Title, and nosh on provided snacks or purchase food from local food vendors, Black Oak Hotdogs & King Gyro.
ALAMEDA COUNTY FAIR October 22-31
The Alameda County Fair is thrilled to welcome guests back for our rescheduled 2021 Alameda County Fair this fall, October 22 thru October 31. The event will comply with all state and local health requirements. The Fair will utilize touchless, cashless systems for ticketing, parking, carnival, food, and beverage purchases. In addition to enhanced cleaning and sanitization, guests will most likely be required to wear face masks while on the Fairgrounds and have their temperature checked prior to entering the Fair.
LAFAYETTE RUN FOR EDUCATION October 24
The Run is the city’s most popular “family affair”, involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. Join us in 2021 for the 10K, 5K or the 2-mile run/walk for fun! Sprinters, walkers, the “stroller brigade”, and many of Lafayette’s top four legged residents are welcome to join in the fun. Beneficiaries of the event are local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber.
TRUNK-OR-TREAT & HALLOWEEN FUN 2021 October 29
Calling all ghouls, vampires, and princesses! Walnut Creek Recreation is hosting the popular Trunk-or-Treat in downtown Civic Park! Bring your little ones to walk through “candy lane” where decorative trunks are filled with Halloween spirit and sweet/non-sweet treats are given out. Stop by our entertaining booths filled with activities, games, and even picturesque opportunities! Enjoy a balloon twister, glitter artist, face painter, and bubble play station! Make sure to bring a bag for your child’s treats! No registration required.
FALL FEST & BBQ COOK-OFF October 2
Are people always telling you your ribs are the BEST around? Or maybe you’re looking to take your BBQ skills to the next level. Cook up some of your best chicken and ribs and participate in Rivertown’s 4th Annual Backyard BBQ Competition at the Rivertown BBQ Cook-off and Fall Fest event on Saturday, October 2 in downtown Antioch.
CAMP TINY HOUSE October 9 - 10
Camp Tiny House is the leading FREE tiny house festival in America and includes house tours, presentations, and booths showcasing everything "tiny". Industry leaders and innovators in the tiny house world will speak about different aspects of the tiny house experience.
ALL BRITISH MOTOR SHOW October 17
The premier Bay Area All British Show is again hosted by our friends at the Blackhawk Museum. Register to show your automobile or motorcycle and be part of the 160+ British show entrants with marques from all islands. A fun day with live DJ, raffle prizes, and awards for all marque classes. Spectators are always free.
COMING TO THE RESCUE 2021 October 22
Celebrating 30 years of commitment to rescue, adoption, spay/neuter, animals, and community support. Join for appetizers and drinks, live and silent auctions mixed with music, and fun to support Contra Costa Humane Society!
HARVEST FESTIVAL 2021 October 23
This is a family-friendly event featuring a costume parade, canine costume parade, pumpkin decorating contest, children’s area, and entertainment in the amphitheater.

This is a great opportunity for local businesses to provide a safe place for families to enjoy Halloween festivities. Instead of walking house to house, children visit creatively themed and decorated car trunks that will line downtown Martinez. Each trunk is sponsored by a business or Martinez resident.
