New Year’s Resolutions: Getting Organized

Remote learning/working design ideas

If sheltering in place, and remote learning have lasted longer than you (or anyone) had anticipated, you may benefit from getting some design help from the professionals. Designer tips for creating a productive remote-learning space for kids include finding kid-friendly furniture, designing against distraction, and asking your kids for help. Getting the whole family involved in a project is a great way to make sure the space is used and functions for everyone who may be sharing the space.

WHAT IS ORGANIZEOLOGY

TOP TIPS FOR GETTING ORGANIZED

  1. If you're feeling overwhelmed when organizing your home or even one room, just start with one area of a room, like the junk drawer in the kitchen. You will have a greater sense of accomplishment when you're done which will build enthusiasm and momentum to take on other areas. Commit to that area until you're done.

  2. Don't think of organizing as a boring chore but instead think of it as a way of clearing bad energy and creating functional space that will bring you joy every time you see it and/or are able to find what you're looking for. Mindset is key. Turn on music or invite a friend over to help and cheer you on.

  3. I like to have the organizing products on site before I start a project and I always over purchase products and return what I don't use so I don't slow momentum or stop progress.
